A Kings Highway homeowner since 1998 who has renovated eight derelict houses, she said Taste Bar & Grill has turned weekends into an unregulated entertainment district with speeding, drag racing and noise into the early morning hours.

A resident since 1991 who has restored about 18 blighted homes nearby, she opposed the rezoning over inadequate parking and outdoor noise running until 2 a.m.

Counsel for the Rogers family, he argued the Planning Board's denial was arbitrary, that noise events were all specially permitted, and that the city had already blocked the cut-through to Kings Highway to fix traffic.
